BasiGo introduces Electric Bus in sustaining Public Transport

BasiGo has to introduced the newest electric bus –the 𝐄𝟗 𝐊𝐮𝐛𝐰𝐚.This 9-meter, 100% Electric Bus is designed specifically to meet the needs of Nairobi public transport operators:

Increased capacity for 36 seated passengers + 18 standing passengers
▪ Recharges in 2 hours at BasiGo’s DC Fast Charging Depots
▪ Up to to 400km per day of operation with daytime charging
▪ A premium interior with leather seats, WiFi, USB charging points and CCTV cameras

The E9 Kubwa is a major step towards decarbonization of public transport in Nairobi. The bus is cleaner, preferred by passengers, and more profitable for bus operators! The first two E9 Kubwa buses are already in pilot operation with public transport operators in Nairobi. Each E9 Kubwa on the road reduces diesel consumption by approximately 20,000 liters per year and cuts carbon emissions by 50 tonnes annually thanks to Kenya’s 90% renewable electricity. We are also proud that the E9 Kubwa will be manufactured here in Kenya starting later this year.

With the E9 Kubwa, BasiGo is also launching a brand new Pay-As-You-Drive Lease. The Lease option allows matatu investors to get the benefits of an electric bus with minimal upfront cost.
