African-founded financial infrastructure company Yellow Card has received the 2026 Fintech ADVANCE Award for Digital Assets, adding to a growing list of industry recognitions as it expands its role in global payments and digital asset infrastructure.
The award, presented by the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), was announced at Fintech South 2026 in Atlanta on August 18. Yellow Card Chief Marketing Officer John Colson accepted the award on behalf of the company.
The Fintech ADVANCE Awards recognise companies developing technologies and infrastructure that are transforming financial services. This year’s other category winners were Vertice AI for Artificial Intelligence, VIVA Finance for Credit and Rainforest for Payments.
For Yellow Card, the award highlights the company’s evolution from a startup that first participated in Fintech South in 2018 into a financial infrastructure provider serving banks, fintechs and multinational businesses.
Colson described the recognition as a full-circle moment for the company.
“In 2018, we came to Fintech South for the first time as a startup, and they gave us a booth. Accepting this award all these years later is a full-circle moment,” he said.
He also pointed to the changing role of stablecoins in international payments, arguing that they are becoming an increasingly important component of the global financial system.
“Stablecoins are no longer a debatable alternative for payments. They are a critical tool for global businesses that need to move money and stay competitive,” Colson said.
The recognition comes during a period of expansion for Yellow Card. The company was recently included in the inaugural Fortune Crypto Innovators list, which recognises companies driving innovation in the digital asset industry.
Yellow Card has also secured $40 million in strategic funding, taking its total equity financing to more than $120 million.
The latest funding is supporting the expansion of Global USD Accounts, Yellow Card’s end-to-end dollar account solution for businesses, as well as the company’s stablecoin infrastructure connecting businesses with markets around the world.
The company’s platform is designed to enable businesses to access US dollars, manage treasury operations and facilitate cross-border transactions while operating across multiple currencies and markets.
Yellow Card counts global companies including Visa and Western Union among its customers, reflecting its efforts to build infrastructure that can meet the compliance, reliability and interoperability requirements of large financial institutions.
The company’s growth comes as businesses increasingly look for faster and more efficient ways to move money across borders. Stablecoins and digital asset infrastructure are emerging as part of this evolving payments landscape, particularly for businesses operating across multiple markets.
The TAG recognition places Yellow Card among companies being recognised for developing technologies aimed at addressing these changing financial requirements.
For the company, the award also provides further momentum as it works to build infrastructure connecting businesses to international financial markets.
Yellow Card said its focus remains on developing financial infrastructure that enables businesses to access dollars, manage liquidity and move money across borders.
