Held at The Waterfront Karen this past weekend, the event brought together gaming enthusiasts, professional players, and spectators in a vibrant celebration of Kenya’s growing e-sports scene.

Professional gamers battle it out during The Ultimate Gamer Tournament, an intense two-day competition that brought together over 70 gamers, all competing for the ultimate prize.

The tournament served as the ultimate stage for showcasing the performance, speed, and immersive capabilities of HMD’s latest smartphone, the HMD Fusion.

Featuring popular mobile games such as FIFA, Tekken, and Call of Duty, the competition drew over 70 players from Nairobi vying for the top prize of KES 75,000 in cash.

The action-packed tournament began with energetic qualifiers on Saturday, culminating in a thrilling grand finale on Sunday. Spectators enjoyed live gameplay on massive screens, insightful commentary from leading gaming influencers, and the chance to test out HMD devices. In addition to the cash prize, participants walked away with e-sports merchandise, cementing the event as a cornerstone of Kenya’s dynamic gaming culture.

Speaking at the event, Maureen Kambona, HMD’s Regional Marketing Manager for West, East, and Central Africa, reaffirmed the brand’s commitment to the local gaming community. “At HMD, we see gaming as more than just entertainment—it’s a platform that connects people, inspires creativity, and drives innovation.
