Yuno, Onafriq Partner to Unlock Seamless Cross-Border Payments Across Africa

Global financial infrastructure platform Yuno has partnered with Onafriq to expand access to Africa’s most extensive payments infrastructure for global merchants.

Through the integration, Yuno’s clients will now be able to access Onafriq’s network spanning 43 African markets, nearly one billion mobile wallets, 500 million bank accounts, and 2,000 cross-border payment corridors via a single developer-friendly API.

The collaboration is designed to address one of the biggest challenges in cross-border commerce in Africa, the fragmentation of local payment systems that often forces businesses to manage multiple integrations, regulatory requirements, and technical complexities before going live.

Onafriq’s infrastructure supports the full payment lifecycle, including real-time disbursements, omnichannel collections, card issuance, treasury management, and stablecoin settlement. These services operate under local regulatory licences and are backed by ISO 27001 and CMML3-certified security standards.

For merchants using Yuno, the partnership enables seamless payouts to mobile wallets, bank accounts, and cash pickup points, as well as simplified payment acceptance across multiple channels, without the need for separate integrations or compliance frameworks in each market.

“Africa represents one of the most exciting growth opportunities in global commerce, and yet too many merchants are still locked out by payment infrastructure that wasn’t built for scale. Our partnership with Onafriq changes that,” said Juan Pablo Ortega, Co-Founder and CEO of Yuno.

“By bringing their unmatched African network into our infrastructure layer, we’re giving our clients a single path to a continent-wide ecosystem with the reliability, compliance, and local depth they need to grow with confidence.”

The partnership aligns with Yuno’s broader global expansion strategy, following its growth across the Middle East, Europe, and Asia, with Africa positioned as a key focus market in its next phase.

For Onafriq, the integration opens access to a wider base of global merchants seeking simplified entry into African markets, reinforcing its mission of reducing friction in cross-border payments and connecting mobile money operators, banks, fintechs, and enterprises within a unified ecosystem.

“Africa’s payment landscape has never lacked ambition or momentum, what it needed is the right infrastructure that matches its pace. Our partnership with Yuno changes the equation for global merchants who want to be part of this growth story,” said Dare Okoudjou, CEO of Onafriq.

“Through a single connection, global merchants can reach consumers and businesses across Africa more seamlessly than ever before, while more people across the continent gain access to the digital economy on their own terms. For us, this is what making borders matter less looks like in practice.”

The integration is now live across Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, and Uganda.

Yuno clients can access Onafriq’s services, including mobile money disbursements and collections, card issuance, and FX treasury functions, directly through the Yuno dashboard without requiring additional contracts or separate integrations.
