The guidance is part of NTSA’s broader plan to digitise vehicle registration services, reduce paperwork, and strengthen the security of vehicle owners’ records. Under the new system, vehicle owners can retrieve their eLogbooks directly through the NTSA portal using their eCitizen credentials, without visiting NTSA offices.
To download an eLogbook, users should log in to their NTSA account via the eCitizen platform and then open the homepage, where their registered vehicles appear.
After completing a motor vehicle registration-related transaction, the vehicle owner should click the “View” option, go to the Logbook menu, and select “Download” to access the digital logbook.
The revamped portal also offers two options for drivers to verify the authenticity of their eLogbooks without contacting NTSA officers directly.
First, motorists can scan the QR code embedded on the eLogbook using a smartphone camera or a QR code reader. The scan generates a unique code or number, which the driver can enter in the “Verify Logbook” section on the NTSA service portal to confirm the document’s validity.
Car owners can also use the NTSA mobile application as a secondary verification method. After downloading the app from the Google Play Store, users simply log in using their eCitizen credentials.
From the homepage, motorists should navigate to the Services section, select document verification, and click on “Verify Registration Certificate.” Scanning the QR code on the eLogbook then generates a unique verification number, and clicking “Verify” confirms the document’s authenticity.
This upgrade aims to make vehicle ownership records far more accessible while cutting down on physical paperwork and eliminating the need for tedious, in-person visits to NTSA offices.
